De-carbonising brushes are produced in a variety of shapes and thereby facilitate the cleaning of carbon from cylinder heads, valve pockets, valve guides etc.

Component parts manufacturers have found these brushes to be particularly useful for deburring. All de-carbonising brushes have 1/4"(6.3mm) shank.
